M. Aminul Islam Akanda, PhD has started his teaching career in January 2001. Earlier, he worked as a probationary officer at AB Bank Ltd. He has long been conducted researches on agricultural policy, water resources, rural development and development economics both under grants and personal overheads. He also serves as research supervisors for graduate students. Moreover, he has undertaken some responsibilities like the Dean for a faculty, Chairman for department, Conveners for different committees and members of Syndicate and Finance committee for the university. He has so far thirteen research articles published in international and a few others in national journals. He is also an author of three reference books indexed with WorldCat. He contributes regularly to the national dailies of English and Bengali languages with more than one hundred columns in his credit.
